Thank you for visiting the Music Ministries section of our website.
Dear Parishioners of St. Peter Church,
The first priority is to tell you of the joy and fulfillment the ministry of music has to offer.
The Word of God, the words and music of poets and composers are reviewed and selected with care to inspire and lift us from our aloneness to come into relationship with God, church and one another.
Each Sunday I am filled and I hope you might also be filled with the energy and emotions of God so we can feel His presence through the week.
The music of the church is filled with your life. It contains your love and hate, joy and emptiness, delight and anger, life and death. God and His music help us move through our emotions to resolution and His fulfillment.
This is what the music ministries are for me. It is the passion of God and his people in relationship. Hearing children sing is delightful. Seeing youth enter His song is joy. Hearing our church sing on Sunday is powerful. I just smile; and then I think of how God is glorified and how God is smiling with us. This is true worship.
Those of you who would not sing, I invite you to enter the Word and song with your hearing, reading, and with your heart to worship.
So, come worship God! Enter our church with a feeling of coming to God. It is my hope to serve God, our church, and you with reverence and joy. May the preparation of all those who have volunteered for these Ministries be a servant Our music ministries will to help you worship, praise and truly adore God. begin meeting again starting in September. Time off is very important for everyone. The parish may have missed the groups that practice regularly during the year, and will appreciate the time and talent of our people; but more importantly the people who give their talent and love of God and music will miss the awesome experience of lifting what is in their soul to God.

P ♫RACTICE--THURSDAY, 7:30 - 9:00 P.M. AT CHURCH
Enhances the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass and other celebrations with traditional music and song.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR
voices, and to participate in mass with our spirit, to learn and grow in our church, and to
worship as Children of God. Mrs. Kellman is the Director of Music. Mrs. Kohler is
the Assistant Director of Children’s choir. Mrs. Levick is our choir volunteer. Mrs. Kellman’s cell phone number in case of emergency is 262-903-1629, or Church office before 5:00 p.m. 847-395-0274. Practices are MOST Thursday’s from 4:00 – 5:15 p.m. in the church basement.
We are using the basement to practice, so the space of church may be kept more sacred.
Please be prompt to practice, and in the picking up of your children. We use every
minute to teach and sing. Practices are VERY Important.
Children’s choir sings the 11:30 mass on the 1st and 3rd Sunday’s of the month.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is also celebrated every 11:30 mass. When the children’s
choir is singing the 11:30 mass, please be in place at 11:15 a.m.
At approximately 4:45 each rehearsal, we have a small snack, and drink. The
children also get a choice of candy at the end of practice. If your child has any allergies
to food or drink, please let us know immediately.
Beginning Sept. 15, we will ask parents to sign up to bring snack, candy, glasses
or napkins. (Please no peanut Snacks due to allergies.)
The First rehearsal that you attend, we ask parents to sign an informational sheet,
so that we know the children, and can contact parents with emergency numbers if needed.
Children in St. Peter School’s after school program who wish to be in choir will
be escorted from school to church, but need a signed permission form to take them from
the school program to choir. After 5:30 p.m., children will be returned to the after school
program.

Thursday April 26th Rehearsal as usual 4:00 – 5:15
Sunday Apirl 29th is a 5th Sunday-WE DO NOT SING AT 11:30
Thursday May 3rd –Rehearsal as usual 4:00 – 5:15
Sunday May 6th –We sing at 11:30 mass.
We will feature our first Communicants from both weekends.
First Communicants-please wear your 1st communion dress/suit You will be given special jobs to do.

Thursday May10th— Children’s choir party. The church will supply pizza.
***Parents—could you please help by signing up by bringing a veggie or fruit to put on a relish/fruit tray, or a dessert.
We will have a play ground play time after The party…please check the playground in back of the school.
Thursday May 17th –no practice due to St. Peter school Musical
Sunday May 20th our last mass-honoring our 8th grade Choir members.
